Cayman Islands welcomes IELTS test takers

The Department of Immigration (DOI) Cayman Islands has introduced a requirement for overseas English language testing (ELT) for prospective employees whose first language is not English. From 1 July, IELTS is one of the tests accepted by DOI as proof of English competency in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. To apply for temporary or full work permits, applicants will need to receive an overall Band Score 6 which must not be older than two years.

DOI Cayman Islands is one of more than 9,000 organisations around the world who rely on IELTS as proof of English language ability.

IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English. It is available through more than 900 test centres and locations in over 130 countries.
